Lead guitarist/vocalist, all around nice guy Brett Davis is the other half of the founding duo of Grampas Grass. His mellow additude is sometimes hidden by his intense guitar work and crafty songwriting. Influenced by the guitar work of Jerry Garcia, David Gilmore, Bela Fleck, Pat Matheny and Jimi Hendrix, Brett has fused many styles together to achieve his sound. Playing around the Orange County and Riverside area Davis found a foothold as a lead guitarist in the band Sky High Blues.

After departing with his longtime friends in Sky High, Davis found himself sitting in an OCC guitar class chatting about disc golf when the possibility of getting together to jam with some random bald guy turned out to be the start of a wild journey of revolving band members with Grampas Grass. "Growing up listening to my mom playing guitar kind of infused a love for the instrument since a very young age." says Davis. "Although how the folk oriented fingerstyled singer/songwriter playing of my Mama lead to me to the screaming lead sound that I love, beats me."

Davis can be seen cruising the freeways in his white coma pickup truck pondering the meaning of his Orange County life. "I think I found the answer at the bottom of a Cracker Jack box, but my secret decoder was offline and I think I washed it in my favorite pair of jeans. I'm still sure that I can find it somewhere in the Anahiem Angels parking lot. But usually I'm too buzzed to remember to look."
